Insurance is only for the Healthy

After many years of working for others for a living and having employer benefit health insurance that took a big chunk of my paycheck each month my husband and I decided we wanted to reach our dreams and work for ourselves. We began to look at health insurance because having two children ages 5 and 9 one with allergies and asthma and myself with migraines this would be an important part of our budget. After looking into the confusing plans and reviewing the terminology we thought we had found a winner so we signed up! What a shock to go get our 2 monthly prescriptions and be told $323.00… I guess we should have asked a few more questions. We now have tons of paperwork to fill out after each Dr. visit…my daughters allergies and asthma are not covered for 6 months and there is no prescription plan. Wholly cow I hope I read the fine print better in my business then I did when finding health insurance. Needless to say we are on the hunt for another plan only this time I have learned from experience and I have come to realize there is not much out there to choose from…We found a really awesome plan but they wont cover me because of the cost of my medication..so the hunt goes on.
