Struggling with our System
I became disabled in Dec. of 2005 due to Chronic Back Pain and Depression. I was literally selling collectibles to buy my pain medicines. God was looking out for me.I got my disability approval. I had income!!!! Now that is good news but like most people under 65 who are disabled have to wait 24 months to get Medicare. I cant understand why the wait?? I am disabled and I need my money for shelter food and basic survival. One prescription I have is almost $300. a month! On top of that I was just diagnosed with diabetes over a month ago. That is costing a lot more with the testing meter, testing strip, Lab work being done quarterly is another story. I pay 90$ just for the office visit. Lab not incl.
I could afford the Dr. visit if i didn't have to spend my check just on prescriptions.
