Out After 26 Years

Tuesday, October 31st, 2006

I’m 53 years old and I was laid off from my job of 26 years in 2005. I’m still looking for a job, but for now I have no health insurance for the first time in my life. This card would allow me to get a discount on my prescriptions. Please note that when I do fine a job and I will find one. I will no longer need this card. I’m out for now, but not for long.

Thanks,

The Hospital

Tuesday, October 31st, 2006

This person is an inpatient at our hospital, The Heart Center of Indiana in Indianapolis. I really cannot speak for the patient. I am a social worker trying to help this man who has no insurance. He really needs his medication, as cardiac medications are usually very expensive.

I Need Help

Monday, October 30th, 2006

I need help getting my prescriptions. I am self-employed and my husband’s job don’t cover me under his insurance. I have high blood pressure and cannot get insurance that I can afford. So if there is anyway I can get help, I would appreciate it. Thank you.

Osteoarthritis

Monday, October 30th, 2006

I’m 79 years old and have terrible arthritis, which has degenerated all the cartilage in my knees. Just getting out of bed hurts. I have had knee replacements, but it just has not worked out too well for me. In addition, I have congestive heart failure and osteoporosis and take many medications for all these things. I am hope that maybe this discount card will help.

Work

Monday, October 30th, 2006

I used to work at MHMR as a therapist and they had a drug plan to cover my medication but then the voices came back and I was unable to hold my job. No one knew the real reason why I wasn’t there anymore. My doctor gave me a great drug but I can’t afford it, so now with the help from here I will be able to keep taking my meds and do better and get back to work and possibly school.
