Doughnut-hole

Sunday, October 29th, 2006

I’ve have fallen into what the government calls a doughnut-hole, after Medicaid Part D has met the quota of $2,500 dollars. I don’t have the money to pay for my 9 prescriptions for the next two months. My only income is social security, and I’m 79years old. I have kidney disease, osteoporosis, Bell’s palsy, and many other conditions.

U.S. vs. Canadian Drug Costs

Saturday, October 28th, 2006

I have been purchasing pharmaceuticals in Canada and in the United States for years. Buying both generic and non generics. The savings were considerable, however, since the weakening of the United States dollar against the Canadian dollar, the savings are less. I would say that with your fifty percent savings card, the cost differences are more in line.

Heart By-Pass

Saturday, October 28th, 2006

I’m a 75-year-old veteran and have difficulty paying for the medicine I need after having a 4-way open-heart by-pass surgery. I am receiving only social security and it barely covers monthly expenses and the Veterans Administration will not provide the medicine I need.

Life Changes

Friday, October 27th, 2006

This past summer I lost my health and prescription coverage through my employer, because of rising costs. This left us without the means to afford health care or prescription coverage, and has been quite a struggle. My spouse and me are both on maintenance prescriptions and it now takes an even bigger bite out of the monthly budget.

My Story

Friday, October 27th, 2006

My mother is 91 years old and is on fixed income. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. As you are aware of the rising health care cost and with a limited amount of income it’s difficult to purchase all of her drugs. Thanks for all of your help and your understanding to this critical issue.
