Married College Student

Tuesday, December 12th, 2006

It has really been difficult to be able to attend school while being married, have a child and maintain a full time job. You must have a full time job in order to receive medical benefits and it’s just hard. It is.

My Story With Depression

Monday, December 11th, 2006

A year ago I was diagnosed with depression and have been on Lexapro for the last year. At the time I had insurance and things were great. I saw an improvement in my attitude and my feelings. We recently lost our insurance because we can no longer afford the cobra cost of almost $500 a month. I just refilled my meds and at $120 a month there is no way to afford it. A friend told me about this plan and here I am.

It Must Come To This!

Saturday, December 9th, 2006

The number of uninsured in America is closer to 90 million than the 45 million that the government reports according to a recent Harvard University study. And this doesn’t include the so called “underinsured”. Those being people with essentially very limited health insurance.

As we all know, medical bills are the number one reason for bankruptcies in our country. This means LOOSING ALMOST EVERYTHING YOU OWN and FORCING YOU INTO NEAR POVERTY! All because you became sick. This is a travesty and a very sad commentary on what was once the most looked up to nation ever on the face of the earth. We are the only so called industrialized nation, (if you can still call us industrialized, when 96% of our clothing is made in China along with the majority of other products we buy), that doesn’t have some type of UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE SYSTEM.

Call me a Socialist, heck call me a Communist if you like, (I’m not but I don’t care), HEALTH CARE FOR ALL OF AMERICANS in my opinion is a RIGHT under our Constitution. “WE THE PEOPLE of the UNITED STATES, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, PROMOTE THE GENERAL WELFARE, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our prosperity………”, “GENERAL WELFARE”, just sorta’ sums it up. How can there be the promotion of “general welfare”, without the right to health care? It’s an oxymoron, there can’t be. So it must come to this….Universal Healthcare for WE THE PEOPLE to promote OUR general welfare.

Let’s begin now with this new Congress of 2007 and make it rallying point for the 2008 Presidential election. Pass Universal Healthcare and attempt to get back on our way to the great country we once were, by first showing compassion by promoting the “General Welfare” of “WE THE PEOPLE”!

Medicaid

Saturday, December 9th, 2006

I am poor enough to be on Medicaid and also disabled but too young and educated to get disability, even though I am ate up with degenerative disc disease, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis as well as fibromyalgia plus other health problems. I cannot walk or function with my spine without my medication since my tens unit no longer works. Medicaid bought the first unit about 10 years ago and will not pay for a replacement and the warranty is up. I am on Oxycontin to maintain function and only 39. Now Medicaid will no longer pay for pain management medications since others choose to get the meds for other reasons and ruin it for us that are in need. I am unemployed and cannot afford my meds. This helps us that cannot get help when we need it. Its people like you that help people in need like us. Thank You.

Why I Need Help

Saturday, December 9th, 2006

I’ve been taking Lexapro for about a year now. I have no medical insurance. I’ve been out of work for about four months and I desperately need help paying for my medicine. My medication is extremely important for my mental health and any help from this website would be deeply appreciated.
