Loss My Coverage

Monday, April 23rd, 2007

I have been at my present job for 8 months now and up until last month, I was had medical coverage, including prescriptions. Last month the company went through some changes and the end result is that I went from a full time employee with coverage to a part time employee and no coverage. It has been very hard on me especially when it comes time to renew my prescriptions. I'm looking for a new job, but until things change, I'm hoping this program will be able to help me take some of the pressure off. Thank You

My aching stomach

Monday, April 23rd, 2007

I was vomiting blood for a couple of days. It looked like coffee grinds. I was very weak and just not feeling good at all. I thought I had eaten some bad food, and gotten food poisoning. I was now feeling much weaker, and thought I should probably get some help from the experts. I wasn't getting any better, only much worse, at this point. I took a cabto the hospital, where I stayed in the emergency room for about eight hours. They admitted me into ICU immediately. I was so scared at this point. They did a procedure where they went down my throat with a camera. I was told it should take about fifteen minutes. It ended up taking about three hours. They found I had a ruptured esophagus, and tore something else down there. After spending a whole week in the hospital and losing alot of blood, the doctors came in and told me that if I wouldn't have gone to the hospital when I did, I most probably would have died. That was a very scary reality.

Single Mom

I have worked for a company for 4 years now and with 2 salary increases still can not afford the health insurance they offer. Instead I go to walk in clinics and pray that they have samples. This past week I got an infection and went to a walk-in clinic and ended up paying $110.00 just for the visit and then the rx is going to cost me another $45.00. If this plan really does work, it would really be a life saver at this point as I am a single parent and do not have a lot of extra money.
