Hard Times

Saturday, July 21st, 2007

No matter how hard of times I found that my daughter and sons are always there to help me. New to dialysis, I still have a lot to learn. First thing is first and that is to try and find all the help I can get paying for my scripts. My daughter has helped me understand even though I hate to be a burden. They always have said no matter how much you disagree when the bad, hard times come your family are your support line.

The Truth about Pain Killers

Friday, July 20th, 2007

Dear Reader,

Last year I was diagnosed with cancer. It went three years without reconizing that I had testicular cancer. I went to the doctor for a basic check up and the doctor noticed that I had a larger than normal testical on the right side. I had some pain but thought it was from a very active sex life. I was immediatly admitted to St Rose Hospital in Oxnad Ca.
There I was put under the close care of Dr. x. Iwas given a pic line diretly to my heart and given morphine, dalodid, fhyentnal, and several other pain meds. after 28 days i became dependent of pain management. Today I'm still addicted to pain meds and going threw a Methodone treatment program. I tell this story to warn others about using pain management during cancer. Try to use as little as possiable and slowly come off. Thank You

Do It Yourself!

Friday, July 20th, 2007

Without insurance and approaching the far side of middle-age, I began experiencing medical problems (such as gnarly finger joints, hip pain, severely aching muscles). The first thing I did was look up my symptoms on the Internet. If my symptoms matched those on-screen, I tried a holistic method of dealing with the problem. Many times (once I found the right combination), over the counter drugs have alleviated symptoms.

I think the trick of affordable health costs is to depend less on medical doctors to prescribe a quick fix and depend on natural supplements (even though they do not begin working quite as quickly as prescription drugs). Also, I believe each person should be responsible to look into his or her own illness first and see if it can be alleviated by means other than a doctor.
