I'm a "semi-retired" public health nurse, who worked extra help for several years…ie: no medical benefits, etc. I'm not old enough for Medi-Care, not poor enough for Medi-Cal, unable to get on disability. I had pvt. ins. thru Blue Cross which cost 1/2 of my S.S. I just dropped it. Very frustrating, working as a health care provider for 35 yrs and unable to get help when I need it.

Rx: A medical prescription. The symbol "Rx" is usually said to stand for the Latin word "recipe" meaning "to take." It is customarily part of the superscription (heading) of a prescription.

Another explanation for the origin of Rx is that it was derived from the astrological sign for Jupiter which was once placed on prescriptions to invoke that god's blessing on the drug to help the patient recover.

My health problems have been a pain the butt but I haven't given up. I have lost my job numerous times and the last job that I had that had health insuarance layed off me and I have been with out insurance. And I have bad allergies and GAD and not having health coverage is a pain. I work as a daycare teacher and taht doesnt pay much at all.

The only thing that saves me is knowing that I have family and friends that love me and care about me.
